VII Encontro ODDH ´O direito a ter direitos`: Igualdade perante a lei, autodeterminação e direitos humanos | 13 de dezembro de 2023

The Disability and Human Rights Observatory (ODDH) is holding its VII Meeting – ‘The right to have rights’: Equality before the law, self-determination and human rights, on December 13, 2023, in a hybrid format (online and in-person ), at the Higher Institute of Social and Political Sciences (ISCSP), at the University of Lisbon.

In this edition, which takes place on the date that marks the 17th anniversary of the adoption, by the UN, of the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), the aim is to promote reflection on the barriers to the exercise of the right to self-determination of people. people with disabilities in Portugal.

Within the scope of this VII Meeting, the report prepared by ODDH – People with Disabilities in Portugal – Human Rights Indicators 2023′ will be presented, which systematizes, from secondary sources, the main statistical information on disability in Portugal in the following areas: Discrimination, Employment, Education and Social Protection.

Additionally, the Meeting will also feature the presentation of the results of the project “EQUAL – Equality before the law and the right to self-determination of people with intellectual and psychosocial disabilities: an exploratory study”, which the ODDH is developing with funding from the Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT).
