Working Group for Students with Special Educational Needs (GENEE)

The Associação Bengala Mágica and Movimento Academia Acessível came together to organize a training cycle where the aim is to discuss aspects related to the educational pathways of students with blindness and low vision, centered on the moments of transition from Basic Education to Secondary Education and for Higher Education and also on the challenges faced by these students who, in the context of Higher Education, are devoid of any legislation that protects them and guarantees them the necessary accessibility in terms of educational resources.

This training cycle will consist of three webinars and will culminate in a face-to-face event in October 2023 (date to be defined).

The 1st webinar will take place on March 4, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm and will have as its theme:

The 2nd webinar will take place on May 6, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm  and will have as its theme:
Educational responses in Higher Education in the face of the lack of legislation regulating support for students with blindness and low vision

The 3rd Webinar will take place on July 1, 2023 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm  and will have as its theme:
The importance of academic pathways in social and affective development

The webinars will be certified in the modality of Short Duration Action (ACD) of 6 hours, under the terms of paragraph d), article 6, Decree-Law nº 22/2014 for Teachers. Participants (teachers) who wish to have the webinar cycle accredited as a Short-Term Action (ACD) must register for the three webinars (2 hours each) for a total of 6 hours of training. The face-to-face Seminar will have its own accreditation, and the Program and registration will be made available later.
